Since 1995, Wolf Ventures has provided equity capital for early and expansion-stage companies. The Fund focuses on partnering with top management teams, primarily in the enterprise software and communication/network technology sectors. Wolf Ventures currently manages approximately $50 million in capital.

Jim has fifteen years experience working with and advising growing companies, as well as experience in two telecom start-ups. Previously, Jim was a Vice President in the Investment Banking Group of Kidder, Peabody & Co., where he was involved in numerous M & A and capital markets transactions. Subsequently, Jim joined Bain & Company, an international strategy consulting firm. While with Bain, Jim worked with the senior management of broadband and wireless companies to develop and implement new business launch strategies. Following his tenure with Bain, Jim joined a venture capital backed wireless broadband start-up, where his responsibilities included operations and business development in international markets.

Jim is the Fund’s board representative for Broadbus Technologies, Connexn, and Roving Planet.

Jim received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and German studies from Northwestern University, and an MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, where he was a F.C. Austin Scholar. He is the past-Chairman of the Colorado Venture Capital Association.


David O. Wolf, Managing Partner

David, founding Partner of Wolf Ventures, has over ten years of venture capital experience in Colorado, and has been a principal investor in over 20 Colorado Companies.

With a history of successful software investments, David spends the majority of his time working with early stage companies in the enterprise software arena. He is an active investor who provides high-level sales and marketing insights to partner companies.

David represents the Fund on Federation Software, Ischemia Technologies, and NextAction.

Prior to founding Wolf Ventures, David was a portfolio manager with Alpine Capital which managed over $200 million. David received a B.A. from Nebraska and an MBA from the University of Denver. He has served as a board member for a number of emerging growth companies and is currently on the board of directors of NSA Engineering and the Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center. David is a frequent speaker at industry conferences, and is a founding member of the Denver Entrepreneurship Academy.
