Our investments are made under the name Aweida Venture Partners, RLLLP. Aweida Ventures Management invests primarily in early stage companies that focus on internet software and infrastructure, storage management and networking, and healthcare and life sciences. We currently operate with a $100 million fund, providing seed or early stage financing usually ranging from $500,000 - $10,000,000. We are typically the lead investor in early round financing, and always support our portfolio companies with strategic guidance through multiple rounds of financing. Principals: Jesse Aweida - Managing PartnerJesse founded Aweida Capital Management in 1988, but his business successes date back more than 30 years. In 1969, he started StorageTek, a data storage company in Boulder, Colorado. In just 12 years, he transformed it from $0 revenue into a billion dollar a year business. Jesse was also involved in operating and/or financing several other Boulder County companies, including Aspen Peripherals, Leasetec Corporation, and Avail Systems. As a managing partner, Jesse holds a board position at a number of Aweida portfolio companies including Benchmark Storage Innovations, YouKnowBest.com, OneRealm, Inc., and Estarcom, Inc. Jesse holds a BS and a master's degree in Engineering. After hours, he enjoys skiing, golf, and spending time with his family. Dan Aweida - Managing Partner Dan Aweida joined the firm as a managing partner in 1991 and currently focuses on software and infrastructure related businesses. Dan holds board positions at several of Aweida's portfolio companies including Benchmark Storage Innovations, YouKnowBest, Inc., TurnLeaf Solutions, and OneRealm, Inc. He works individually with these companies to help them grow strategically into profitable investments. His goal is to support portfolio companies without interfering with their day-to-day operations. Dan earned his BS in Business from the University of Northern Colorado and his MBA in Finance from Regis University. In 2000, he was a member of the Regis Forum Technology Task Force, a group created to guide the technology curriculum at Regis. The Technology Task Force studied the feasibility of applying the technology that is readily available in the business world to an academic setting. A Colorado native, Dan enjoys traveling with his family, skiing, snowboarding, water skiing, racquetball, and participating in open road and track automobile racing. Harry Ross - Managing Partner Harry Ross, M.D., is a partner at Aweida Capital Management. He joined the firm in 1995, and currently utilizes his medical background to focus on science-based technology companies. Prior to joining the firm, he was a staff emergency physician at Rose Medical Center in Denver and at Longmont United Hospital in Longmont, CO. As a managing partner, Harry holds board positions at several Aweida portfolio companies, included RxKinetix, Inc., Interferometrics, PermaCharge Corporation, and netHesive, Inc. Harry earned his doctorate at Oregon Health Science University. He may be the only M.D. in Colorado involved professionally in venture capital work.
